Las Vegas NV
The client was giving an Italian-themed Awards Reception for 600 people. We were asked to provide décor, entertainment, sound equipment, and lighting, including stage wash, lighting for the entrance décor, pin spotting for three bars and one registration table, and red, white, and green up lighting around the perimeter of the room.
We wanted the guests to forget that they were in Las Vegas and enjoy the feeling of an Italian Piazza, with all the romance and old world charm. We came up with several looks for the client and offered choices in décor. In addition to the requested lighting, we would offer old-fashioned light posts and strings of bulb lighting to give the room the feel of an outdoor area. We suggested an opera singer to add flair to the musical entertainment.
Guests entered through an area set up to look like a winery and checked in at registration tables set up with checkered skirting. The large ballroom was transformed into an outdoor bistro, complete with classic checkered tablecloths with sunflower arrangements and streetlights strung with lights. Screen printed fabric panels with stone columns, buildings and Italian street and country scenes added to the Italian feel. A quartet with a lead opera singer wowed the crowd on a stage that looked like part of the outdoor bistro against a backdrop of a 24xs14' stone building with faux door and windows, accented with planters with flowers. Despite the size of the room required for 600 guests, the décor gave a feeling of intimate space, as well room for the bustle and laughter of hearty partiers.
